Korean Dramas for Beginners

Are you overwhelmed by the vast variety of Kdramas and stuck wondering where to start? The majority of Kdramas are romantic comedies, so there are plenty of options if that's what you like. Almost all Kdramas also have a similar plot of a rich guy with an evil mom that falls for a poor girl. There is also usually an evil girl that is trying to make the rich guy hers and a nice guy that likes the poor girl but is friend zoned.

One of the funniest and most romantic Kdramas is Secret Garden. The cast for this show had amazing chemistry and gave the viewer an all around delightful experience. Secret Garden is also commonly referenced in other shows and has a great amount of famous scenes. The show is about a CEO that falls for a poor stunt double and their struggles to be together from the difference in their family backgrounds. To make the show more interesting and entertaining, the two switch bodies whenever it rains.

Another classic that is a must see for Kdrama fans is Boys Before Flowers. This show is about a girl put in a rich school for saving a student and her battle of extreme bullying from her poor family background. When the founder's son falls for her, it becomes a war between them and his mom.

My friend who loves cooking, watches Lets Eat. When i watch shows with my dad, we like action and comedy so we really enjoyed Faith. Faith is a historical/time travel drama in which a plastic surgeon is brought back in time to save a princess from death.

A Kdrama that i would recommend for beginners is Take Care of the Lady. This show is a romantic comedy that i found to be very entertaining. In this show, a poor guy becomes the butler of a spoiled rich girl to keep her in line and teach her a lesson.

A newer show that is great for scifi fans is My Love From Another Star. This show is about an alien that is stuck on earth for 400 years waiting to go back to his planet. The alien falls in love with his neighbor, who happens to be a top actress, and becomes her protector.
